1. The role of the nurse.
In the medical industry, the nurse plays a crucial part in the treatment process of each patient and
an efficient assistant for doctors (Wilson et al., 2005). They are not only willing to take care of
inmate physically but also a meditation for their mental health (Ott, 2004). Additionally, the
nurse is also the right hand of each doctor in the health care process (Beuscart-Zéphir et al.,
2005). Due to the irreplaceable role in health services, nurses represent in many primary
practices such as clinics, schools, and workplaces (Naylor, & Kurtzman, 2010). Therefore, it
offers an ambitious requirement for the behavior of each caretaker, who has to meet the basic
qualities in this service. According to Roach (2013), the six fundamental expectations that a
nurse needs to have, which are: Compassion, Competence, Conscience, Confidence,
Commitment, and Comportment. However, the two of Roach’s 6 C regard to Compassion and
Confidence will be further investigated. Furthermore, identifying the accession between these
requirements and the latest Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) Code of
Conduct for nurses (2018) can be addressed.
